The Friends Endowment Fund was established to provide financial assistance to women, enabling them to pursue educational opportunities with the flexibility and adaptability necessary to meet their needs as workers, wives, mothers, and citizens. 

The Friends Endowment Fund is unique in that its criteria for eligibility and award include the needs and situations overlooked or not considered in other scholarship and grant criteria, but that are barriers for women.  Lack of funds for child or dependent adult care, transportation costs, lost pay for leave time, or even the cost of books and supplies may prevent women from pursuing educational opportunities critical to their futures.

The eligibility criteria for the Friends Endowment Fund are designed to fill unmet needs of women pursuing a variety of educational opportunities, such as G.E.D., technical or specialized training, college coursework, or even seminars and career related workshops.
