It's All About Relationships: Increasing Your Organization's Effectiveness in Advocacy & Public Policy Work -Regenia Baily
Advocacy and public policy work is more than just a trip to the Capitol, a letter to the editor, or a conversation with the Board of Supervisors. At its most fundamental level, advocacy and public policy work is about relationships—something at which women and girls excel. This workshop will discuss developing those relationships for your organization—with community members and with elected officials and their staff members—in an authentic way. We will focus on the critical questions that advocates must answer to clearly frame their issues. We will examine approaches that have been successful (and not successful) for other organizations. You will take back these critical questions—and the answers that you develop—to your organization to engage in a broader advocacy discussion with the stakeholders of your organization.
